States Making Change
Changes in public health policy at the state level not only protect residents in that state, but also inspire policy change in other states and in Congress. That's why the Breast Cancer Fund is actively involved in state legislation, state-to-state efforts and state-to-federal efforts.
California
In our influential home state of California, the Breast Cancer Fund has successfully passed bills aimed at making toys, X-rays, cosmetics and other consumer products safer for Californians. We've also been leaders in efforts to monitor the pollution in people and create a green chemistry initiative in the state. Learn more about current California policy initiatives »
Washington
We've also worked with colleagues in Washington State to demand safer children's products and cosmetics. Learn more about Washington policy initiatives »
Other States
We haven't done this all alone. As well as partnering with our colleagues in California and Washington, the Breast Cancer Fund works with environmental health colleagues through the Safer States network. Together, we're making real change for a safe and healthy future. Learn more about the Safer States network »

To share what we've learned through past state policy initiatives, the Breast Cancer Fund created a Legislative Toolkit for individuals and organizations motivated to make change in their own states. Browse our Legislative Toolkit for states »
