Heroes Celebration is the Breast Cancer Fund's annual gala at San Francisco's premiere Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The evening includes an inspiring awards ceremony, followed by an organic buffet and green marketplace reception. In line with our mission and the work of our honorees, the Breast Cancer Fund strives to make Heroes Celebration a sustainable event.
In 2011, we honored three Heroes who are innovators for a healthy tomorrow, setting high standard for safety and sustainability in food, cosmetics and healthcare: Kit Crawford, owner and co-CEO of Clif Bar & Company, which strives to integrate social and environmental responsibility into all aspects of the company; Horst Rechelbacher, innovative business leader and founder of the plant-based health and beauty companies Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients; and Kathi Salley Randall, a Breast Cancer Fund advocate and a leading voice for eliminating the environmental links to cancer in neonatal units in order to protect nurses and babies alike.
