Sarah Janssen, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., is a physician, scientist, advocate and mother committed to using her expertise in reproductive biology and environmental health to reduce our exposure to toxic chemicals and protect our health and our environment. Dr. Janssen is board-certified in occupational and environmental medicine, has a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology, and serves as staff scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). She has been an invaluable partner in several key advocacy efforts, including winning a ban on toxic phthalates in children's plastic toys, and was awarded a Hero Award by the Breast Cancer Fund in 2010.
