The Household Product Labeling Act Co-Sponsor Drive

Take Action On This Issue

The chemical smell probably tipped you off years ago to the fact that household cleaning products and paints might not be good for you.

Products like spray cleaner, furniture polish, mildew remover, house paint and wood stains can all contain chemicals linked to cancer, early puberty, birth defects and asthma. The ingredients are hardly ever labeled on the product because no law requires it, so they’re hard to avoid.

What Now?
The Household Product Labeling Act (S. 1697), introduced in September 2009 by Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., aims to give consumers the right to know what’s in these products, and it needs your support.

Use the form below to ask your senators to co-sponsor the bill. Feel free to add your own thoughts to the letter before sending.
