Thousands of people participate in events across the United States each year to raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund. Whether at the Breast Cancer Fund's signature Climb Against the Odds, Bike Against the Odds, Peak Hike or Heroes Tribute events, or at one of the dozens of events hosted by supporters, we hope to see you in 2008!

LUNAFEST National Traveling Film Festival
Locations nationwide; go to lunafest.org for a showing near you.

In September, LUNA, the whole nutrition bar for women, launches the 8th annual LUNAFEST - the national traveling festival of short films by, for and about women. Attend one of the 150 showings nationwide or host your own! Every ticket sold benefits the Breast Cancer Fund and local nonprofit organizations.

The LUNA CHIX Want You!

Join a team of women in your community in swimming, running or cycling while also raising money for the Breast Cancer Fund! A division of the LUNA Pro mountain bike team, LUNA Chix ambassadors host clinics and fundraising events across the country.

Support 107.7 The Bone
Tuesday Mornings in the Bay Area, Calif.

The Bay Area's 107.7 The Bone Morning Radio Show has teamed up with BCF to raise over $80,000 to date for breast cancer prevention. Classic jocks Lamont & Tonelli ask listeners to donate at any Ta-Ta Tuesday appearance.

Ta-Ta Tuesday is a weekly morning party at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Baby Huey sets up the BONE goodies table next to the BONE rig from 6:00am to 9:00am, and invites listeners to come by and make a donation to the Breast Cancer Fund in exchange for concert tickets, CDs, DVDs, t-shirts or whatever BONE goodies he raids from the studios!

Climb Against the Odds 2009
June 21-27, Mt. Shasta, Calif.

Join a team of inspiring women and men in a mountain expedition for breast cancer prevention. Climb Against the Odds will be a journey of a lifetime for 40 breast cancer survivors and individuals touched by this devastating disease.  Together, the team will demonstrate that - like working to prevent this disease - anything is possible if taken one step at a time.

Sacred Treks: Tour du Mont Blanc
July 26 - August 2, 2009

Join expert Himalayan guide Cathy Ann Taylor for a celebrated trek around Western Europe's Mont Blanc.  This 6-day and 7-night adventure, complete with wondrous views from sublime ridges and quiet valleys, will raise funds for breast cancer prevention. Experience Europe in a whole new way, challenge yourself physically and honor the lives and memories of those who have faced breast cancer.

LUNAFEST Premiere
Thursday, September 18, San Francisco, Calif.


Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Palace of Fine Arts on September 18 for the national premiere of LUNAFEST, the national  festival of short films by, for and about women.  This event launched the festival’s upcoming tour to over 150 cities nationwide, raising thousands of dollars for local nonprofit organizations and the Breast Cancer Fund.

Peak Hike 2008
Mill Valley, Calif.

Thank you to the hundreds of women, men and families who hiked for breast cancer prevention. Teams and individuals hiked a 7-mile or 11.5-mile trail up beautiful Mt. Tamalpais with breathtaking views of the Marin Headlands coastline. After the hike, they returned to a hero's welcome and community celebration.  The support raised critical funds for the Breast Cancer Fund.  Thank you for making a difference.

See Jane Run Triathlon
Saturday, September 27, Pleasanton, Calif.

The See Jane Run Triathlon (AKA See Jane Tri) rocks. It’s a race. It’s a milestone. It’s a moment of triumph. And it’s got camaraderie and girl-fun written all over it. Picture this. Swim 400 yards in open, fairly calm water, bike 11 miles, then run 3 miles. Cross the finish line and celebrate with your friends and family.  Of every entry fee, $4-$7 will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund (donation amount is based upon paid participant registrations), and participants are encouraged to do additional fundraising as part of the event.

Cancer and Your Environment Workshop Series
Oct. 1, 15, 29 and Nov. 12, Seattle

It seems almost daily we hear new information about the environmental links to cancer.  It's easy to feel overwhelmed.  Where do we begin? What choices should we make?  How can we create a healthy, non-toxic home?  Join the Breast Cancer Fund and Gilda's Club Seattle for a series of interactive workshops on creating a healthier and safer home for yourself and your family.  You are welcome to attend all or some of the events.

Lorri Painter Peacock Open
Friday, October 3, San Rafael, Calif.

The Lorri Painter Peacock Open is a charity golf tournament in honor of Lorri Painter, an avid Bay Area golfer who lost her life to cancer in 2003.  To date, the event has donated $75,000 to organizations working to eliminate breast cancer and supporting those living with the disease.

Beyond the Pink: A Hike to Prevent Breast Cancer
Sunday, October 5, Dickerson, Md.

Join the Breast Cancer Fund for the 2nd annual Beyond the Pink, a 2.5 or 7.5-mile hike on Sugarloaf Mountain in Dickerson, Md.

Enjoy a beautiful hike and help to provide critical support for breast cancer prevention.

Sacred Trek - Bhutan
October 30-November 13, Mt. Chomolhari, Bhutan

Sacred Trek-Bhutan offers two trips with varying levels of difficulty, where travelers are expected to fundraise a minimum of $5,000 as part of their journey. These trips are organized by Expert Himalayan Guide Cathy Ann Taylor, a longtime supporter, Strong Voice, climber and Hero of the Breast Cancer Fund. Experience full-service camping or lodging and personalized service. 100% of the donations raised will support the Breast Cancer Fund's programmatic work.

The Pink Party
November 15, San Diego

Now in its third year, the Pink Party is multi-faceted event raising money for breast cancer prevention where live music, fashion shows and guest speakers are only a fraction of what makes this party the place to see and be seen in San Diego.  A minimum of 50% of all proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the Breast Cancer Network of Strength.

Thank You to Our Event Hosts Everywhere

We would like to offer our thanks to...

Women in Natural (WIN) and the 16 participants of Climb Against the Odds Colorado - Save Second Base, who climbed Mt. Bierstadt for breast cancer prevention.  Participants raised $6,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund.

Oakland California Canoe and Kayak and the 100 paddlers who participated in another successful Support Strokes kayaking event.  Over $6,000 was raised for the Breast Cancer Fund.

Sportbikegurls.com, an internet motorcycle community of Sportbike Riders for holding it's First Annual Rally at Fontana Village in North Carolina on July 28th & 29th to benefit BCF. 

The hundreds of supporters who donate through online giving resources, their workplace giving programs, and the many corporations that match these gifts. A big thank you as well for those who have donated their vehicles to us, raising $300,000 since 2003!
